  • New offering from Salesforce and XU is aimed at a wide range of target groups, regardless of digital skills and prior knowledge
  • The XU Platform for Talents offers free online learning formats that prepare students for attractive digital jobs
  • Interactive learning modules such as “Data Science”, “Software Engineering” or “Customer 360” impart future knowledge and pave the way into the digital industry and promising career paths at Salesforce, its customers and partner companies

There is an increasing shortage of employees for the digital transformation of the economy: According to bitkom, the number of vacancies for IT specialists across all sectors rose to 96,000 last year – 12% more than in 2020, when 86,000 jobs were already vacant.  The gap between demand and qualified specialists is widening. At the same time, however, there is an enormous amount of undiscovered talent whose potential remains untapped – partly because they know too little about potential future jobs in the digital sector.

XU Platform for Talents: The springboard for new perspectives with a future

The fact that many people do not have the confidence to take on a job in the technology sector is partly exacerbated by structural barriers in the labor market, such as for refugees, people returning from parental leave and career changers. As a result, not everyone has the same opportunities to get started in the digital sector – a situation that we cannot afford and which is undesirable from a social perspective. XU and Salesforce are convinced that knowledge and education are the most important keys to more equal opportunities in the digital sector. This is precisely why the two project partners are working to ensure that more people have access to the skills they need for the jobs of today and tomorrow – with the XU Platform for Talents.

Using a low-threshold online tool, the so-called Passion Finder, interested people can get an overview of which digital jobs with a future suit them in just a few minutes. To do this, they answer short questions about their interests and behaviors in everyday working life and then receive a selection of suitable job profiles that match their personality type. In this way, they learn about new, previously unknown prospects, including attractive career opportunities in the Salesforce environment, which are accessible to all interested parties with the help of learning and qualification opportunities. Afterwards, the talents have the opportunity to register for the modern learning platform XU Platform for Talents. Here they can receive further training on relevant topics. In high-quality, video-based learning journeys, sustainable knowledge building on various digital topics is possible – providing the right springboard for a new digital career.

Knowledge opens up opportunities: digital participation for all

To this end, XU has designed suitable learning modules with learning times of 30 to 120 minutes that focus on key digital skills. These include the topics of “Customer & User Centricity”, “Data Science”, “Innovation & Product Development”, “New Technologies & Trends”, “Project & Self-Management” and “Software Engineering”. There are also modules such as “Salesforce in a Nutshell” and “Customer 360”, which are specifically tailored to prepare for career paths within the Salesforce cosmos. All learning modules on the XU Platform for Talents are available to interested parties free of charge – paid for by Salesforce – so that everyone really does have the chance to get their career off to a flying start.

Nicole Gaiziunas, founder and Co-CEO of XU: “With our platform, we offer a hub where interested parties can build up basic and in-depth knowledge of digital transformation according to their individual needs. In particular, we want to support those who do not yet have a suitable approach to the topic and are therefore unsure whether the digital working world suits them. Personally, I am convinced that anyone with the right knowledge can make the leap into the digital world – and I am delighted that, together with Salesforce, we can give them the opportunity to take that decisive step.”

Career with Salesforce: Attractive opportunities in a comprehensive partner network

Once young digital talents have acquired the right knowledge for the future on the XU learning platform, they are free to take the next step on the path to becoming a digital professional with Salesforce. Those who want to take the path to becoming a Salesforce Developer, for example, can then access the company’s own Trailhead platform and acquire exactly the knowledge and skills they need for a career in the Salesforce ecosystem, as well as subsequently becoming officially accredited for their new role.

“Now more than ever, in our ‘work-from-anywhere’ world, people have the opportunity to have a successful career in the technology industry regardless of their background, location or personal circumstances. Equal opportunities is one of our core values and we have been committed to fair educational opportunities in Germany and Europe for years. I am looking forward to this great project with XU. We can give thousands of people new career prospects,” says Gurjinder Sembhi, COO Salesforce Central Europe.

The following career paths can be achieved via the appropriate Trailhead qualification programs: Salesforce Administrator, Salesforce Developer, Salesforce Consultant, Salesforce Business Analyst, Salesforce Sales, Salesforce Service, Salesforce Designer, Salesforce Marketer and Salesforce Architect. They all offer attractive future prospects both at Salesforce itself and at numerous customers and partner companies that also have a great need for digital expertise.
